Vacation!!

This is the view from the top of the Winter Park Ski Resort. The last day we were there we decided to go on a hike up the slopes. We heard it took about 45 minutes to an hour so we figured it couldn't be too bad. Holy Cow! I know I am out of shape, but lugging little 20lb Mark up a mountain was a little more difficult than we expected. John and I took turns carrying him and I will admit John carried him a lot longer than I did!

I think we took a break about every 8-10 minutes on the way up. I thought this was a cute pic of me, Mark and Emmalie. We've already climbed pretty high and we had only been going about 10 minutes!

Once at the the top we took a picture next to the trail map. I think I'll put it in Mark's baby book to document the first mountain he ever climbed. We started at 9000 feet elevation and ended at 10,700 feet. I thought it was a pretty good climb!

On the way up we had to take frequent water breaks! (Mark LOVES his water bottle!)

Our whole trip was planned so that Matt and John could ride their bikes up Mount Evans. It is one of the 14,000 foot mountains in Colorado and is the highest paved road in the US. Last year, they rode the Triple Bypass 120 mile ride here in Colorado and this year they decided to conquer Mount Evans. Here they are at the top!
